The Transience of Love

FRIDAY 3 MAY, 7:30pm at Arthall. “Is everything we see, feel or touch or know in transience? Will everything we care about eventually be gone? Will our “I love your for ever afters” come to an end? Dissolve into meaninglessness and disappear with the dust. But… is it Art? A talk by Spyke von Stripe

5 April 2019, 7:30om. A brief look at some parts of the History of Art throughout the ages up till present day. Art is open to interpretation and to philosophical discussion: What is art? Where is the limit? Is there a message? Spyke von Stripe will lead a debate about art, exposing his own point of view and opening the talk to a debate between the assistants. Night with the Artists and… the Model, Lucy Jade, form the UK.

Saturday 30 March 2019. Would you like to know more about the artistic process? Don’t miss the chance to meet our three artists, currently exhibiting at Arthall: Penny Foster, Mark Xuereb and Tomas Hed. In an informal atmosphere, they will explain the art pieces of “Erotic Cravings”. Moreover, we will have the chance to meet the model behind Penny Foster’s paintings, Lucy Jade, from the Uk. The Art of Conscious Breathing

On Sunday 24 March, you are cordially invited to a lecture and a practice of ‘Medicine in the Moment’, namely, the Art of Conscious Breathing. This ancient art (and science) is central to the new paradigm of person-centred health maintenance. Jam Session

On 2 March 2019 at 8pm, Arthall is organising its next activity an – Open Jam session – which is being held on Saturday, the 2nd of March from 8pm onwards. The gallery is inviting the public to join them for a fun night of live music, improvisation and creation. “Bring your own instrument and share with us the passion for music.”

On Sunday 10 February at 7:30 pm, you will have the opportunity to have a conversation with the artists of our current exhibition and ask them what you always wanted to know about the artistic process. Reading at Arthall

Philosophy Sharing Gozo’s next activity will be a reading by Heiko Jörges from `The Baron in the Trees’ a 1957 novel by Italian writer Italo Calvino, which will be followed by a discussion. The book tells the adventures of a boy who climbs up a tree to spend the rest of his life inhabiting an arboreal kingdom. A new version of the novel was published in 1959. This event is open to anyone who wishes to participate.Entrance is free, and no reservations are required. The activity will be at Arthall, Victoria, Gozo.

Experimental Filming

On 12 January 2019, Arthall will show the experimental films of Heiko Jörges, who originally comes from Germany and has been working as a lawyer, translator, actor, photographer… Always trying to reach beyond what we could call “normal” or “establish”, his unique point of view might drive you nuts – or not. He will also perform some live music. In the inner room of Arthall, the video clips of Clown Room will be projected. Night With The Artist

On Saturday night, 11 August, Tomas Hed was on hand to talk about his paintings from the Perspectives exhibition. The artist said that in his work he is presenting different ways of being in the world, pointing out the genuine characters’ views in his creations.
