A US art collective recreates Victoria’s Arthall in the Metaverse for a 3D gallery experience

Arthall’s new virtual exhibition

Hanbell is part of the US-based Culturally Arts Collective’s mission to reinvent art consumption for the digital age: they make art accessible to global audiences with 3D virtual gallery spaces that can be visited by anyone, from the comfort of their own home, on the bus or on the beach.

In this show, Gurr presented largescale works with bright, energetic colours and patchwork-like pop art creations. The paintings include several botanically inspired recollections of place from around the world which are uplifting, joyful and almost celebratory. Look out for an avenue of trees in San Anton Gardens, a ‘jungle’ in London’s Kew Gardens, and a rock pool in a park in Madrid, each reassembled like the patchwork of a fantasy land.

The exhibition also includes two large paintings filled with stylised human shapes that poke fun at  the lack of communication and the isolation brought in by our social media obsession.

This show, Gurr’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, was curated by ArtHall Founder Marta Obiols Fornell.

“It’s amazing that a little gallery on a little island can now be visited by anyone in the world,” she smiles. “It’s something rather pioneering!”

You can read more about the works here. The walk-through on-line show is available to view until May 31.
